South Australian superstar Georgie Horjus has earned one of netball’s most prestigious individual accolades, named Player of the Year for the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball season.
At just 22 years of age, the Thunderbird #100 has cemented her place in Australian netball history as the best player in the best netball competition in the world for 2024.
Horjus had a year like no other, securing her second-consecutive SSN premiership with the Adelaide Thunderbirds as well as making her international debut as Australian Diamond #193.
The Kangaroo Island native finished the season with an impressive 230 goal assists, 445 circle feeds, 297 centre pass receives and 93 goals as she moved between wing attack and goal attack.
Horjus picked up a stellar four Player of the Match Awards along with five fan-voted MVPs.
In the Grand Final, she topped her side’s Nissan Net Points with 81.5 along with 7 goals, 13 goal assists and an incredible 22 feeds.
Adding another feather to her cap, Horjus earned her maiden selection in the SSN Team of the Year at WA, along with defensive teammates Shamera Sterling-Humphrey and Latanya Wilson.
Horjus signed a two-year extension with the Adelaide Thunderbirds, seeing her in the pink dress until at least the end of 2026.

Four other South Australians were recognised at the Awards Night as Tania Obst was named 2024 SSN Coach of the Year and Lauren Frew took out Rookie of the Year following a break-out debut season.
Lucy Austin was also celebrated as the Player of the Series for Australia at the 2024 FAST5 Netball World Series and South Australian netball icon Nat von Bertouch was inducted into the Netball Australia Hall of Fame.
