South Australian Lucy Austin will take home the Australian FAST5 Player of the Series award for her outstanding performance across the 2024 FAST5 World Series.
Austin has now won three-consecutive FAST5 gold medals with Australia, defeating the FAST5 Ferns by 4 goals in the Grand Final on their home soil in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The 22-year-old led Australia in goals scored in the Grand Final match with 13 points from 9 shots as well as accumulating 3 goal assists and 4 feeds.
The long-range shooter showed her composure throughout the series, scoring 2, 4 and 6 pointers from all over the goal circle when her side needed her most.
In the side’s 17-point victory over Jamaica, Austin was named Player of the Match.
Australia managed to remain undefeated across the series having won all six of their matches.
In just two years as a contracted player with the Thunderbirds, Austin has become a two-time SSN premiership player, 2023 SSN Rookie of the Year, an Australian Diamond Invitee and a three-time FAST5 Netball World Series champion.
The prolific shooter is a proven winner and is only just getting started, with Austin extending her contract with the Thunderbirds for 2025.
