Maisie Nankivell

Maisie Nankivell stepped up in her first year as vice-captain for the club in 2022, taking on the role alongside captain Hannah Petty.

She continued to set the standard in preparation and dedication to her craft as a versatile midcourter.

From Mundulla to the SSN, this South Australian country netballer has made her way from the state’s south-east to the best netball competition in the world.

Starting with Mundulla Netball Club, she went on to play for Matrics Netball Club in the Premier League.

Nankivell debuted for the Adelaide Thunderbirds as an injury replacement player in 2019 and immediately impressed with her ability to create pressure and impact play.

In the same year, she juggled netball and football commitments after being picked up by the Adelaide Crows AFLW side, for which she played two games.

In 2020, she accepted an official contract with the Thunderbirds and experienced a breakout season that led to her becoming dual Club Champion, as well as the SSN’s Rebel Rising Star.

Off court, Nankivell studies a Bachelor of Criminology and Law.
