Patrons entering Netball SA Stadium aged 16 and over will need to provide proof of double vaccination from December 11 as the business aims to help protect its community from the impact of COVID-19.
The Stadium is the latest in a string of Adelaide venues to announce it will introduce a double vaccination policy after SA opened its borders to New South Wales and Victoria in November.
As the home of netball in SA and the second most utilised venue in the state, Netball SA is determined to make the stadium a COVID-safe venue.
The policy will also apply to all Netball SA staff, contractors, volunteers and the Netball SA Board.
“We’ve seen many venues in Adelaide and around the country adopt this policy and with over 450,000 patrons coming through our doors each year, we feel we have a responsibility to protect our community as much as possible,” Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said.
“We understand this may be an issue for certain members of Netball SA and the Adelaide Thunderbirds, however we feel this is the right decision to keeping our staff, volunteers and community safe.
“We will continue to review our policy in the coming months as we adapt to this ongoing challenge.”
The policy will officially come into effect at 12:01am on Saturday, December 11.
Mandatory vaccinations will not apply to those with a medical exemption.
