Sasha has proved to be one of the league’s most exciting shooting talents this season. She holds second place for the league’s offensive rebounds, with Caitlin Bassett in her sights.
Her efforts did not go unnoticed, as Sasha was handpicked by Netball Australia to put the Diamonds to the test at their training camp in Sydney. Sasha trained with the Diamonds for a day, before the team left for the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup in Liverpool.
“When I was told I’d been invited to go into the camp I was so excited by the opportunity to play against the Diamonds,” Sasha said.
Sasha says the experience of taking on the best netballers in the country was invaluable.
“It helped show me where I need to pick up in my own game,” Sasha said.
“I’m going to keep working hard and putting myself in the best position to hopefully get selected one day.”
Without hesitation, Sasha predicts the Diamonds will remain reigning champions in the competition.
“They’ll get gold of course! They’ve got the best reputation,” Sasha said.
“Being a shooter myself, I really admire their shooting end. It’s just so slick.”
