The Adelaide Thunderbirds not competing in World Cup returned to training this week. However, it wasn’t all work and no play for Sasha, as she spent some special time with the children of the team’s proud sponsor.
Sasha says she loved the chance to meet some of the youngest members of the South Australian community.
“When the kids came in, I was straight on my knees! I’ve got nephews and nieces myself, so I love kids and being able to get out there was so special.”
Emali General Manager, Nadine Quarello says the Adelaide Thunderbirds represent an exciting partnership for the popular learning centre.
“At Emali we are genuinely committed to health and wellbeing,” Nadine said.
“We promote active living through our centres and are proud to be engaging members of our community through both sports clubs and fitness gyms.”
“Our partnership with the Adelaide Thunderbirds is an extension of our continued support for local sports.”
Emali, who are focused on a growth mindset approach in education and care services, are working with Youth Jobs PaTH and have recently rolled out a sports program including football, soccer, tennis and of course netball across all their nine centres.
Nadine says the innovative early educators value the vital role sports play in children’s development.
“Children who exercise, including running around playing outdoors in the fresh air and especially those who engage in sporting activities like netball, are not just having fun but are also ensuring the healthy development of their brain,” Nadine said.
“Engagement in sports also has other positive life outcomes for your children including enhanced memory, increased levels of creativity, self-esteem, confidence and important life skills such as resilience and teamwork.”
Sports are also believed to be great way to develop young ones into team players of all kind.
“They learn to cooperate and collaborate with other children and learn how to manage through differences and work together to achieve common goals.”
Emali’s Prospect location opened just over a year ago and is a beautiful purpose-built building located off the main road in a quiet setting.
The centre consists of five developmentally appropriate learning environments, perfect for children to develop strong relationships with both educators and other children.
The location is filled with natural light and a spacious outdoor area, ensuring lots of space for play!
