In her debut season, Tayla Williams made her mark on the centre position for the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
A series of breakout performances in the middle of the season saw the local SA talent shine.
Williams starred in Round 9 as the fan-voted MVP with a team-high 96.5 Nissan Net Points (NNP), 6 gains, 5 intercepts, 24 feeds and 12 goal assists.
She backed it up in Round 11 when she picked up her first Player of the Match honour with 102 NNP, 23 feeds, 13 goal assists and 4 gains.
Hailing from Balaklava in the state’s Mid North, Williams had been a training partner with the Thunderbirds since 2020 and was rewarded with an official contract ahead of the 2022 season.
The versatile midcourter came through the Netball SA Pathway, starting with Hummocks Netball Club as a junior before joining Contax Netball Club in the Netball SA Premier League.
Williams also represented SA at the 2019 National Championships, where she won gold with the U19 side. That same year, she represented the Southern Force in the Australian Netball League.
