Lenize Potgieter
A dynamic goal shooter with plenty of experience on the international stage, Potgieter will enter her third season with the Adelaide Thunderbirds in 2022.
The South African has been a strong target for the Adelaide side, showcasing her impressive movement and signature split. In 2021, she ranked second for the Thunderbirds in Nissan Net Points with 740.5 after leading the side in goals scored with 453 at 95% accuracy. She finished the season on a high, taking out the fan-voted MVP accolade in Rounds 10 and 14 and picking up a Nissan Player of the Match recognition in Round 12. Before joining the Thunderbirds in 2020, Potgieter played in both England and New Zealand, while also juggling her duties with the South African Spar Proteas national team. In 2016, she represented Team Bath in the Netball Superleague before joining Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic in the ANZ Premiership in 2017 and the Southern Steel for 2019. At the end of 2019, Potgieter was signed by the Firebirds as an injury replacement player before joining the Thunderbirds.
