Petty found her place in wing defence in 2022, making her mark on the position and delivering a stellar season for her side.

In her second year as sole captain of the Adelaide Thunderbirds, she shined in her relatively new role in the defensive third.

She finished the season with 16 intercepts, 29 deflections and 15 pick-ups.

In Round 10 of the 2021 season, Petty celebrated her 50th national league game in front of a home crowd at Netball SA Stadium.

The 2021 season marked Petty’s sixth year with the club after making her way through the Netball SA Pathway as a junior and debuting in the pink dress in 2016.

She started with Wudinna Netball Club in her hometown on the Eyre Peninsula before moving to Adelaide and representing Tango Netball Club in the Netball SA Premier League.

In 2017, she captained the Australian side who competed at the Netball World Youth Cup in Botswana, playing under coach Tania Obst and alongside teammate Matilda Garrett.

Off the court, Petty is studying for a Bachelor of Education.
