Hannah Petty
South Australian gem Hannah Petty joined an exclusive club in 2024 as the third captain of the Thunderbirds to secure dual premierships.
In her ninth season in pink, she followed in the footsteps of club legends and fellow dual premiership captains Kath Harby-Williams and Nat von Bertouch. She also became just the second captain to secure back-to-back championships for the Thunderbirds after Harby-Williams first did so back in 1998-99. Petty delivered a stellar performance on the big stage, recording 75 Nissan Net Points, 25 feeds, 12 goal assists and four deflections in the Thunderbirds’ Grand Final victory. The captain will return for her 10th season with the Thunderbirds in 2025. Petty made her way through the Netball SA Pathway as a junior and debuted in the pink dress in 2016. She started with Wudinna Netball Club in her hometown on the Eyre Peninsula before representing Tango Netball Club in the Netball SA Premier League. In 2017, she captained the Australian side who competed at the Netball World Youth Cup in Botswana. Off the court, Petty is studying for a Bachelor of Education.FIND OUT MORE
