The Adelaide Thunderbirds have added experience and versatility to its mid court for 2024 in the form of two-time SSN premiership player and Diamond #178 Laura Scherian.
The diverse WA/C started her professional netball career in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy in 2007, before she was signed by the Queensland Firebirds in 2010.
As Super Netball was born in 2017, she joined the Sunshine Coast Lightning and went on to win two premierships with them in 2017 and 2018.
Scherian’s performances earned her the green and gold dress in 2019 when she became Australian Diamond #178.
The 34-year-old played 14 games in 2023 and celebrated her 100th national league game in round three.
Thunderbirds High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said Scherian’s experience and dedication made her a strong addition to the side’s midcourt.
“Laura is among the league's most experienced midcourters and her work rate is second to none,” Bourdon said.
“She has proven to be versatile across wing attack and centre throughout her playing career, recording over 1000 Super Netball assists.
“We look forward to welcoming Laura to the Thunderbirds family and can't wait to start working with her.”
