The Adelaide Thunderbirds will welcome back versatile defender and Thunderbird #112 Sanmarie Visser for season 2027.
The South African debuted in Round 4 of 2025 following Shamera Sterling-Humphrey’s pregnancy announcement.
On debut, the 22-year-old played almost the entire 60 minutes, picking up 3 gains and 5 deflections.
Following Sterling-Humphrey’s return from maternity leave, Visser joined the Leeds Rhinos in the UK Superleague for the 2026 season.
She made 12 appearances for the Rhinos and recorded 50 gains, 49 deflections and 18 intercepts playing predominantly in goal defence.
Post-season, Visser and was named Players’ Player of the Year and Fans’ Player of the Year.
Thunderbirds Head Coach Tania Obst said the club was pleased to welcome Visser back.
“Sanna joined us in 2025 and brought a great work ethic and positive attitude into our environment,” Obst said.
“She’s an exciting young talent and she’ll add another layer of versatility to our list.
“We look forward to having a full pre-season together and seeing her development continue in Super Netball.”
