The Adelaide Thunderbirds would like to thank South African Sanmarie Visser for her contribution to the club in 2025.
Visser joined the club originally as a temporary replacement player for Romelda Aiken-George in the pre-season and eventually replaced Shamera Sterling-Humphrey following her pregnancy announcement.
With the return of Sterling-Humphrey who is already contracted for 2026, Visser will depart the Thunderbirds environment.
The 21-year-old defender made her debut in Suncorp Super Netball in Round 4, playing almost the entire 60 minutes and picking up 3 gains and 5 deflections.
Adelaide Thunderbirds General Manager of High Performance Jace Bode thanked Visser for everything she had done for the club.
“Sanna entered our environment around Team Girls Cup and has taken every opportunity with both hands,” Bode said.
“She was eager to learn, determined to soak up all the information she could, and she made great connections with her teammates on and off the court.
“It was a big decision for Sanna to leave home for a taste of the SSN environment and we thank her immensely for her contribution this season.
“We wish her all the very best and have no doubt we’ll see her back on the SSN stage in the future.”
