The Adelaide Thunderbirds are set to host the Collingwood Magpies on Sunday, with the Suncorp Super Netball league confirming the match will go ahead in Adelaide.
The match will be played at Netball SA Stadium at 2:30pm ACST.
The league will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation in South Australia and the Thunderbirds will remain prepared to travel if need be.
Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said the team was thrilled to remain in South Australia and continue preparing for a home match this weekend.
“The Thunderbirds have been prepared to travel since the news of local cases in SA first broke, but we’re thrilled the league has decided to keep our game against the Magpies here in Adelaide,” Ms Klei said.
“We understand the nature of this pandemic means things can change rapidly, but for now, we will continue to prepare to play in front of our Pink Army.”
Ms Klei said Netball SA Stadium will operate at 75% capacity for Sunday’s match, in line with guidance from SA Health.
“We’re so pleased to still have a home game, but of course we must adhere to guidelines set by SA Health and unfortunately this means our stadium capacity will be reduced to 75%,” Ms Klei said.
“All of our members will still be granted entry to the game however this will impact our ticket holders.
“All ticket holders will be communicated with through Ticketmaster on what this means for them.”
