Premiership defender Matilda Garrett will return to the Adelaide Thunderbirds for 2024 and 2025 after re-signing with the club for another two seasons.
Garrett shined on court in 2023, producing her strongest performance in her Suncorp Super Netball career and earning a spot in the 2023-24 Australian Diamonds Squad.
She recorded 515.5 Nissan Net Points across the season to go with her 16 intercepts, 41 deflections and 10 defensive rebounds.
She also played a significant role in driving the side forward into attack with 88 centre pass receives.
Standout performances in rounds five and nine saw Garrett named in the SSN Team of the Round on both occasions in goal defence.
Post-season, she made her Diamonds debut, becoming Diamond #191 as the Australian side took on South Africa.
Thunderbirds High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon welcomed Garrett back to the club.
“Matilda has grown every year with us and had a stellar year in 2023, earning a spot with the Diamonds and becoming a premiership defender,” Bourdon said.
“She’s relentless and determined and found plenty of ball for us this year.
“Tilly also brings strong leadership to our team and we look forward to having her back for 2024 and 2025.”
