The Adelaide Thunderbirds have re-appointed Head Coach Tania Obst on a two-year deal that will see her lead the side for 2023 and 2024.
After four seasons together, the club underwent an extensive review and selection process to determine the re-appointment.
“The selection process and interviews we conducted showed strong support for Tania with both staff and players,” Ms Klei said.
Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said the process highlighted Obst was resoundingly the right person for the job.
“In her time, Tania has been instrumental in developing and rewarding our local South Australian talent as well as recruiting key international stars.
“As a club, we fell just one game short of making finals in 2022 and we have full faith in this group to take it to the next level in 2023.
“There is a plethora of talent and versatility in our current list and we’re confident in Tania’s ability to lead this side to success.”
A South Australian local, Obst said she was proud to lead the side for another two seasons.
“This club means a lot to me and I’m passionate about adding future success to the Thunderbirds’ rich history,” Obst said.
“I’m incredibly excited by our list – particularly with the additions of SA emerging shooter Lucy Austin and English Rose Eleanor Cardwell – and what we can achieve together in 2023.
“As a team, we’re all eager to get back to training in October and continue to build on what we’ve started.”
