The Adelaide Thunderbirds have elevated South Australian midcourter Lucy Voyvodic as the club’s Eleventh Player for 2026 on the back of a stellar 2025 campaign.
In her first year as a Thunderbirds training partner, the rising star was named Most Valuable Player for the Thunderbirds Futures side.
The 20-year-old recorded 118 circle feeds, 23 gains, 24 deflections and 14 intercepts across 22 quarters of netball in the Super Netball Reserves.
Most recently, Voyvodic was selected in the Australian 21U side set to compete at the Netball World Youth Cup later this month.
The Adelaide local made her way through the Netball SA Pathway, representing her state on the national stage and identified as a South Australian Sports Institute athlete.
She claimed two gold medals in 2023: first with the SA 19U side at the National Netball Championships and second for Australia at the Fast5 Commonwealth Youth Games.
In 2024, she was named Rookie of the Year in the in the Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League competition, in which she represents the Matrics Netball Club.
Head coach Tania Obst said Voyvodic will enter the Suncorp Super Netball environment with an impressive list of accolades.
“Lucy has achieved a lot in her young netball career at state, national and international level,” Obst said.
“The experiences she’s gained are invaluable and have prepared her to take this next step at SSN level.
“She has a unique x-factor and is very versatile through the midcourt, making her a clear standout in our Futures side in 2025.
“We’re proud to elevate another South Australian talent and work with Lucy even further in 2026.”
