The Adelaide Thunderbirds have elevated emerging talent and mother-daughter prospect Jazmin McKay to the club’s list for 2027.
McKay, the daughter of Thunderbird #2 and Australian Diamond #113 Sarah Sutter, will make history as the club’s inaugural mother-daughter selection.
Versatile, dynamic and incredibly athletic, the 18-year-old has made a name for herself in South Australian netball.
A Netball SA pathway athlete, she has starred at every step of the way and proven her ability to perform in both the midcourt and defensive units.
McKay is a dual premiership player for Contax Netball Club in The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League and a South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) athlete.
She has represented South Australia on multiple occasions, setting the tournament alight and earning Most Valuable Player nods in both the 17U and 19U divisions.
In 2025, she made her debut for the Thunderbirds Futures side in the Super Netball Reserves before earning her first selection as a training partner with the Thunderbirds for 2026.
Thunderbirds Head Coach Tania Obst said McKay was a unique talent with an exciting future ahead.
“We’ve seen Jaz progress through the pathway and her many successes have been a testament to her talent and dedication to the sport,” Obst said.
“She has an impressive athletic ability combined with strong netball smarts, making her the perfect addition to our list for 2027.
“It’s exciting to elevate not only a young South Australian, but the daughter of a club legend and icon of Australian netball.”
