Adelaide Thunderbirds star defender Shamera Sterling has backed up her impressive debut season in the SSN in 2019 with another selection in the Team of the Year (TOTY) in 2020.
The Jamaican international was named Reserve Defender in this year’s TOTY after finishing second only to Jhaniele Fowler in the league for Nissan Net Points (NNP) with 1147.
Sterling topped the league for defensive rebounds with 37, finished second for deflections with 104 and third for intercepts on 37.
She was also named in the NNP Team of the Year after making seven appearances in the Team of the Week during the season.
In Round Five, she was named Player of the Round after recording 136 Nissan Net Points and picking up an incredible 12 gains.
She also collected six intercepts, nine deflections, two rebounds and two pick-ups.
At the close of the season, she shared dual Club Champion honours with teammate Maisie Nankivell for the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
