The Adelaide Thunderbirds have painted the town pink after their historic Suncorp Super Netball win last year and now, they are set to do it all again to raise vital funds for breast cancer.
In partnership with The Hospital Research Foundation Group, the Thunderbirds have announced their inaugural PLAY 4 PINK breast cancer game on Saturday, June 22 for their Round 11 home clash against the Melbourne Mavericks.
Limited-edition PLAY 4 PINK beanies will be sold to fans prior to and at the game, to ensure the packed Adelaide Entertainment Centre is even more pink than usual for the match.

The players will also wear custom-designed PLAY 4 PINK warm-up tops that will be auctioned after the game.
All proceeds raised from the auction, merchandise and public donations will go directly to breast cancer research, patient care and accommodation run by The Hospital Research Foundation Group.
More than 20,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in Australia, with a heartbreaking 3,000 dying from the disease.
Thunderbirds partners and passionate businesses have also jumped on board, with Jones Radiology joining as the Major PLAY 4 PINK Partner and matching all donations on the night.
Adelaide Thunderbirds captain Hannah Petty said the club is excited to be partnering with the Foundation again and raising awareness and funds through the PLAY 4 PINK match.
“Our Pink Army are already the best fans in the league so we know they’ll get behind the PLAY 4 PINK game and help us raise awareness and funds for breast cancer,” Petty said.
“Everyone knows someone affected by breast cancer, and medical research is the best way to improve survival rates for the next generation. We’re doing this for all our fans – the girls, mums, aunties and loved ones who come to our games every week.”
This is the third year the Thunderbirds have partnered with The Hospital Research Foundation Group and first year holding a PLAY 4 PINK game.
The Hospital Research Foundation Group CEO Paul Flynn said the Thunderbirds move to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre would ensure even more fans can get behind their team and the fight against breast cancer.
“An alarming 1 in 7 women in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer,” Flynn said.
“The Hospital Research Foundation Group proudly supports research that helps with the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer, as well as patient care initiatives in hospitals and accommodation for country cancer patients.
“But this research can only continue with the generous support of the community, and we can’t wait to see the Pink Army get behind their pink Thunderbirds on 22 June.”
