Adelaide Thunderbirds 2021 captain Hannah Petty will return for her seventh season in pink in 2022 after re-signing with the club for another two seasons.
The South Australian talent thrived in her leadership role in 2021 and was a consistent cog in Adelaide’s midcourt.
Playing predominantly in centre, she ranked second for the club in goal assists with 154 and feeds with attempt with 185.
Her courage and defensive flair was on show on multiple occasions as she led her side for pickups with 31 and ranked fourth for intercepts with 12.
The skipper picked up two Subway fan-voted MVP accolades in Rounds 1 and 4.
Against the Fever in Round 4, she topped the side in Nissan Net Points with 71.5 after recording 19 feeds, 10 goal assists and 6 pick-ups.
In Round 10 against the Firebirds, Petty celebrated her 50th national league game in front of a home crowd at Netball SA Stadium.
Thunderbirds High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said the club was thrilled to re-sign Petty for another two seasons.
“Hannah is an incredibly well-respected member of our team and club and we’re very happy to have her on board again for 2022 and 2023,” Bourdon said.
“She is a natural leader and has been a key part of building a family-focused culture at our club.”
