The Adelaide Thunderbirds will be bolstered by the return of Sasha Glasgow and Layla Guscoth for its Round Three clash with reigning premiers the NSW Swifts on Wednesday night.
The pair missed the opening two rounds of the Suncorp Super Netball 2020 season as they completed the final stages of their recovery from injury.
Glasgow (knee) played three games for Contax Netball Club in the Netball SA Premier League over the past two weeks, while Gusgoth (Achilles) played three for Newton Jaguars Netball Club.
Both athletes have been named in the squad of 12, after joining their teammates on the Sunshine Coast this week.
As a result, training partners Charlee Hodges and Tayla Williams have been omitted from the squad but will remain in the hub in Queensland for the time being.
Thunderbirds head coach Tania Obst said Glasgow and Guscoth had both shown great resilience and determination during their rehabilitations.
“We welcome back both Sasha and Layla into our team this week for our game against the Swifts” Obst said.
“Both have shown tremendous resilience through their rehabilitation, working tirelessly for the opportunity to step back out on the SSN arena.
“I’m looking forward to seeing them back out on the court and I’m sure our fans and members are too.”
After defeating the Giants by eight goals on Saturday, the Thunderbirds face the reigning premiers in the Swifts on Wednesday, August 12.
