South Australian rising shooter Lucy Austin will be back in pink for 2024 after re-signing with the club.
In her first contracted season, the 21-year-old made a name for herself in Suncorp Super Netball and brought an x-factor to the club’s shooting end.
Across the 2023 season, she delivered 133 goals and 11 super shots to complement her fellow shooters.
She finished the year on a high, delivering stand-out performances in the final rounds and having a significant impact during her side’s finals campaign.
In her side’s Major Semi-Final, Austin slotted a buzzer beater to save the game, proving her ability to deliver under immense pressure.
Thunderbirds High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said Austin had earned an extension after a strong first season.
“We were pleased with Lucy’s development in her first contracted season and she stepped up further in our finals matches,” Bourdon said.
“Her confidence grew week-on-week and it was great to see her deliver on the biggest national stage our sport has to offer.
“She’s a young and talented local and we look forward to seeing what we can achieve together for years to come.”
