The Adelaide Thunderbirds have locked in their 2022 list by signing South Australian emerging midcourter Tayla Williams.
Hailing from Balaklava in the state’s Mid North, Williams has been a training partner with the Thunderbirds since 2020 and has now been rewarded with an official contract.
The 21-year-old made her Super Netball debut as a training partner during the 2020 condensed season and impressed in all three midcourt positions.
Although she did not don the pink in 2021, Williams produced a stellar season for Contax Netball Club in the Netball SA Premier League and was ultimately named in the Team of the Year.
Thunderbirds’ High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said Williams had well and truly earnt her spot on a Super Netball list.
“Tayla is a very promising local talent who can play all three midcourt positions,” Bourdon said.
“She is incredibly hard-working and has shown true dedication to the club during her two seasons as a training partner.
“Not only is she a great netballer, Tayla is also a great person, and we know she will be a wonderful addition to our list for 2022.”
