The Adelaide Thunderbirds Members have chosen Georgie Horjus as their Nippy’s player of the year for 2023.
Horjus produced another stellar season in the pink, finishing on an impressive 1018.5 Nissan Net Points - ranked second for the Thunderbirds.
Across the season, the fan favourite topped her side for goal assists with 271, centre pass receives with 305, and feeds with attempts at 326.
Horjus also ranked fourth in the league for goal assists and fifth in the league for centre pass receives.
The emerging superstar follows Shamera Sterling and Maisie Nankivell as the last two winners of the Members Player of the year.
It has been an incredible 12 months for Horjus, who was selected in the Australian Fast5 team that travelled to New Zealand last November and went on the win gold for her country.
She also became a premiership player at just 21 years old, playing an integral part in the Thunderbirds success on the big stage.
She adds another trophy to her collection, after being named Player of the Finals at the club’s Awards Night on July 9.
On the same night, Shamera Sterling was crowned Club Champion, key recruit Eleanor Cardwell was awarded the Spirit Award, and Latanya Wilson was recognised as the Player’s Player.
