Netball SA will call Adelaide Arena home for the next two years as it relocates ahead of the major $92 million redevelopment of its existing home at Mile End.
In April of 2024, the Malinauskas Labor Government confirmed the redevelopment of Netball SA Stadium, with works commencing on the outdoor courts in October of 2025.
In preparation for the indoor facility to undergo demolition in 2026, Netball SA’s offices will move to the Findon stadium in mid-December.
Netball SA’s reception and all office spaces will be located on level 1 of Adelaide Arena and accessible to the public from the corporate entrance on the venue’s eastern side.
The reception will be open to the public from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday and will continue to also be accessible by phone on 8238 0500 and email on reception@netballsa.asn.au.
While the Adelaide Thunderbirds will continue to call the Adelaide Entertainment Centre home for matches, the side will commence training at Adelaide Arena in 2026, split between the venue and facilities at the South Australian Sports Institute in Mile End.
In addition, several of Netball SA’s competitions and programs will also relocate to Adelaide Arena, including The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League competition.
With the outdoor courts at Mile End set to be complete in March of 2026, outdoor competitions will recommence at Netball SA Stadium while work is underway on the indoor facility.
Netball SA and the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing have worked closely with the netball community to relocate several competitions and programs to ensure the 2025/26 summer of netball could continue.
The two organisations will continue to communicate with its communities and key stakeholders as the project progresses.
Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said it was an exciting time for netball in South Australia.
“Netball SA Stadium has hosted countless special moments for South Australian netball over the years and while it’s sad to say goodbye to our Mile End facility, we’re so excited to be fast approaching the rebuild of our new home,” Ms Klei said.
“We’re pleased to have worked with the Peligra team at Adelaide Arena to secure the relocation of our office spaces and several of our competitions and programs.
“We will remain open and accessible to the public and we look forward to hosting our members and partners at our temporary home away from home.
“I want to especially thank our netball community who have worked so closely with us and the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing to relocate our competitions as best as possible.
“Netball will look a little different in 2026 but before we know it, we’ll be cutting the tape to our brand-new home and giving our netball community the world-class facilities it deserves.”
Netball SA's workforce will be at Adelaide Arena from Monday, December 15 before closing to the public for the holidays from midday on December 19 and reopening on Monday, January 5.
