The Adelaide Thunderbirds have re-signed four-time national premiership player Romelda Aiken-George for a second season in pink.
In her 16th season in the national league, the Jamaican superstar had an incredible 2024, recording 736 Nissan Net Points, 517 goals and 69 rebounds.
In the Grand Final, she was awarded the Player of the Match medal in the team’s victory with 57.5 NNP, 42 goals and 10 rebounds.
Aiken-George proved why she remains one of the best goal shooters in the world, leading the side’s attack end as a formidable target under the post.
She officially became Thunderbird #108 in her debut game in Round 1 against the Queensland Firebirds, where she scored 48 goals.
With 230 games under her belt, Aiken-George brings a wealth of experience to the side’s attack end.
Thunderbirds General Manager of High Performance Jace Bode said the club looks forward to having the three-time national MVP back in pink.
“Romelda was a dominant target for us under the post in 2024 and once again showed why she is one of the best shooters the sport has ever seen,” Bode said.
“Her competitiveness on court and ability to take ball in the air and covert to goal was second to none.
“She added invaluable experience to our attack line and built strong connections with the players around her.
“We look forward to welcoming her back in 2025."
