The Adelaide Thunderbirds have re-signed South Australian star and co-captain Georgie Horjus for another two seasons.
A one-club player, the Kangaroo Island product will enter her eighth and ninth seasons as a Thunderbird with three premierships under her belt.
She also joins Sterling-Humphrey as one of just five premiership captains for the club after raising the trophy at the end of the 2026 season.
Horjus is a former Club Champion, a 3 x Players’ Player, and one of only four athletes to take out the coveted Super Netball MVP award in the past decade.
Made for the big stage, she has also been named Player of the Finals twice for the club – in 2024 and 2026 – and been chosen as the Members’ MVP in three of the last four seasons.
In 2026, she led the league for goal assists with 331, was second for centre pass receives with 329, and finished eighth overall for Net Points as she moved seamlessly between WA and GA.
In her second year as a member of the Australian Diamonds squad, Horjus also became a bronze medallist in August after representing her country at the Commonwealth Games.
Thunderbirds Head Coach Tania Obst said the club was thrilled to extend Horjus for her eighth season.
“We’re very pleased to continue working with Georgie, her success both nationally and internationally is a testament to her talent and dedication,” Obst said.
“She is a workhorse for us in attack and provides unique versatility through the midcourt and goal circle.
“She’s continued to develop her leadership skills and stepped up brilliantly into a co-captain role in 2026.
“She’s done our program and the whole of South Australia proud and we look forward to another season together.”
