The League released the below statement earlier today:
The Round 7 derby between the Collingwood Magpies and the Melbourne Vixens has been relocated to Sydney’s Ken Rosewall Arena.
The match will be played as a double-header following the GIANTS Netball and the Sunshine Coast Lighting match this Saturday.
The GIANTS Netball and the Lightning game will begin at 3:00pm (AEST), before the Melbourne derby is fought out at 5:30pm (AEST). Ticket holders to the GIANTS and the Lightning game will also be able to watch the Melbourne derby.
The Magpies were due to host the Vixens at Melbourne’s home of netball, John Cain Arena, but the league has relocated the match to Sydney due to the coronavirus outbreak in Victoria.
The league is hoping to resume normal fixturing from Round 8 onwards.
The change means that Saturday night’s hit-out between the Adelaide Thunderbirds and the NSW Swifts will begin half an hour later at 7:00pm (ACST).
Suncorp Super Netball League operations manager Bill Allen thanked the Melbourne teams for their ongoing commitment to the competition.
“The Magpies and the Vixens have been on the road for just under two weeks and we thank them for their flexibility and commitment to ensuring the Suncorp Super Netball season goes ahead,” Allen said.
