The Adelaide Thunderbirds will kick off their 2022 campaign with a string of home games, including a season opener against the Collingwood Magpies on Saturday, March 26.
The side will play their first four matches at Netball SA Stadium before hitting the road for Rounds 5 and 6 and returning home to host the West Coast Fever in Round 7.
A semi-condensed format will give the Thunderbirds two mid-week matches in Rounds 4 and 10, with both to be played at Netball SA Stadium.
Round 3 will be particularly special for the Thunderbirds family as the club celebrates its 25th anniversary in a Heritage Match against the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
In Round 13, the Adelaide side will return to its second home at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre for a blockbuster match against the Melbourne Vixens.
The match will also mark the second week of the league-wide First Nations Round.
All games will be broadcast live and ad break-free on Fox Sports, available on Foxtel and Kayo, and have been moved to prime-time spots on Saturdays at 5pm and 7pm.
Seven of the Thunderbirds’ matches will also be Kayo Freebies, allowing access for those without a Foxtel or Kayo subscription.
Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said the club was excited to secure seven home games, including its season opener, for its members and fans.
“We’re pleased to have seven home games after the past two years of reduced games due to the pandemic,” Ms Klei said.
“After recording our highest-ever attendance for an SSN match at the venue in 2021, we also look forward to another return to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in June.
“2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the Adelaide Thunderbirds so Round 3 will be a very special match and we can’t wait to share this with our fanbase at Netball SA Stadium.
“Shifting games to Saturday evenings is also a big win for our sport and netball community who can now play in the day and watch at night.”
