Star defender Latanya Wilson has earned her third-consecutive crown, taking out the 2026 Adelaide University Club Champion recognition.
The epitome of versatility and athleticism, Wilson continued to shine in the world’s best netball competition.
On the big stage, she was named MVP of the Grand Final with an incredible 104 net points, 7 gains, 6 deflections and 3 intercepts playing across wing defence and goal defence.
She was also selected as Player of the Match on three occasions in the minor rounds.
The Jamaican recorded the most intercepts of anyone across the league this season with 37 and was third for deflections with 62.
Wilson was crowned at the Thunderbirds Awards Gala at SkyCity on Sunday, July 5.
Homegrown hero Georgie Horjus was also celebrated at the Awards, named by her teammates as the 2026 Valour Players’ Player and taking out the Hospital Research Foundation Group Player of the Finals Award.
In her first season as co-captain, the South Australia led the way in the side’s attack line.
She topped the league for goal assists and was third for centre pass receives, moving seamlessly between wing attack and goal attack.
A calm presence with incredible netball smarts, Horjus’ playmaking abilities are unmatched.
She was also the pink army's MVP, chosen as the 2026 RAA Members' Player award recipient.
In the side’s Major Semi-Final, she recorded 40 feeds and 21 goal assists. In the Grand Final, she finished with 27 feeds, 23 goal assists and 6 goals.
Thunderbirds vice-captain Tayla Williams was also recognised as the Awards Gala as the recipient of the SASI Spirit Award for another year.
A born leader, Williams was voted by her teammates for upholding the team’s values both on and off the court.
