Adelaide Thunderbirds assistant coach Tracey Neville has advised she will depart the club to join the Sports Entertainment Network’s new Suncorp Super Netball side as head coach for 2024.
Neville joined the Thunderbirds ahead of the 2023 season and played a key role in the side’s Premiership success in July alongside fellow assistant coach Cathy Fellows and head coach Tania Obst.
“Tracey had a huge impact at our club this season and is a highly respected and loved member of our Thunderbirds family,” Thunderbirds High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said.
“We had planned to retain Tracey for 2024 but SSN head coach opportunities don’t come along very often so we respect and support her decision to accept this role at the new SSN club.
“We are sad to see her go, but we thank her for her time with us and know she’ll always be Thunderbird #18.”
Neville said the decision was based around what she felt was the next step for her coaching career.
“I have loved my time with the Thunderbirds and will be forever grateful the club had the faith to welcome me into the pink family and allow me to navigate coaching again at the top level,” Neville said.
“Thank you to everyone for what was one of the best years of my life - the memories, the fun and more importantly, the success we achieved together means the world to me.
“I’ve made lifelong friends and an extended family whilst being at the club.”
