Cody said: “It’s been a really tough decision to make, however, I am ready and excited to take a step back and start pursuing my goals outside of the netball court.”
“My career in the SSN has been both challenging and rewarding however stepping away is the best thing for me physically and mentally.”
Cody added her sincere thanks to the Adelaide Thunderbirds for her six years at the Club.
“The Adelaide Thunderbirds have given me amazing opportunities and experiences, as well as friendships that I will be forever grateful for,” she said.
Tania Obst, Head Coach, said: “Cody has shared her wishes to take 2020 away from the sport and we absolutely respect her decision and she goes with our full support.”
“Cody has been a well-respected and dedicated member of the Adelaide Thunderbirds and we wish her well for her break from netball.”
Obst said a replacement shooter to cover Lange’s position will be announced in due course.
“The club is currently working through options for a replacement player and we will share this news once confirmed,” she said.
