Develop your skills while having fun

The Hospital Research Foundation Group Adelaide Thunderbirds School Holidays Clinics are back! The clinics provide budding netballers with an exciting chance to develop their skills and learn from their netball heroes, the Adelaide Thunderbirds athletes.

These interactive clinics vary depending on the age and skills and aim to cover all aspects of the game, including attacking, defending, shooting, ball handling, footwork and match play practice. Best of all, it’s a great way to make new friends and be part of this fun and inclusive environment.

If you’ve come to one of our clinics before, make sure you register again! Every school holiday clinic offers something different to help netballers walk away with new skills each time.

In 2024, we are trialing a new format for our clinics in response to past participant feedback. The new structure is designed to better tailor each clinic to a range of skillsets and backgrounds.

All participants receive a 10% discount on Adelaide Thunderbirds Supporter Memberships for 2024.

Please carefully read the stages of each skill level and decide which clinic the participant is suited to. Ask yourself, is my child capable of doing this? If you cannot decide, please contact Participation Coordinator, Josh de Heus, at joshua.deheus@netballsa.asn.au

Yes, this was introduced in January. However, based on feedback from surveys completed after the January School Holiday Clinics, it was evident that the clinics above Beginner and Foundation Levels required an age level due to the difficulty of the more advanced clinic levels and for clinics to maintain their quality.

This is also to allow for sequential skill progression, so each participant goes through the appropriate stage of skill learning.

The Beginner and Foundation Clinics ARE NOT age specific, meaning that anyone from 5-15 years old can register for the clinic. Once they register, they will be grouped via age to ensure the best experience at the clinic.

The Development: Skills and Development: Position Specific clinics ARE age specific. Development: Skills requires you to be 10 years and older and Development: Position Specific requires you to be aged 11+.

This is to allow for sequential skill progression, so each participant goes through the appropriate stage of skill learning.

We will endeavor to have an Adelaide Thunderbirds player attend each clinic.

Participants are welcome to register for multiple sessions, however they must meet the specific criteria for that clinic.

No. Registration will need to be completed individually for each participant.

Yes. There will be an option during registration where you can select YES to this option and then list up to two friends for the participant to be grouped with.

Participants should bring a drink bottle for during rotations and a snack for breaks. They should also wear attire appropriate for physical activity and netball/running shoes.

Personal items must be clearly labelled. Netball SA will not be held responsible for lost or misplaced equipment.

Netball SA accredited Community Coaches will be coaching and supervising participants throughout the clinic.

Inclusive Abilities – 1:5

No. Once your child is checked in with their coach, parents and guardians are welcome to leave and return 10-15 minutes prior to the end of the session.

Yes. There will be breaks during the clinics which will be between 10-30 minutes. Please read the welcome email regarding the specific details of your clinic which is sent a week prior to clinic commencement.

We have designed a wide variety of clinics for various participant needs and abilities and by doing this, have hopefully made your job easier when deciding what clinic to choose. If you do need assistance with this or would like to discuss further, please contact Participation Coordinator, Josh de Heus, on 8238 0512 or at joshua.deheus@netballsa.asn.au

Participants will be grouped via age upon registration, so while the clinic is based off netball experience and skill level, there will still be age categories within each clinic.
