Lucy Austin

A South Australian pathway talent, Lucy Austin became a dual premiership player with the Adelaide Thunderbirds as they secured back-to-back trophies in 2023 and 24.

The 190cm GS/GA came through the Netball SA pathway, representing her state and starring in The Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League for Matrics Netball Club.

Austin made her first SSN appearance in Round 6 of 2022, becoming Thunderbird #105.

At the close of the season, she was offered her first SSN contract in the same month she won a premiership with Matrics Netball Club. 

Officially a Thunderbird, she delivered 133 goals and 11 super shots in 2023.

Post-season, she was honoured with the SSN Rookie of the Year Award.

In 2024, she delivered 85 goals and 17 super shots on her way to her second premiership and was named as an invitee for the Australian Diamonds for 2024/25.

In November, she will represent her country for the third-consecutive year at the Fast5 Netball World Series.

Off court, she studies a Bachelor of Human Movement/Masters of Teaching.
