Kate Heffernan delivered a breakout debut Super Netball season for the Adelaide Thunderbirds in 2026, having an immediate impact in the world’s best netball competition.
An international star for the New Zealand Silver Ferns, the experienced C/WD was awarded Player of the Match twice and fan-voted MVP three times.
She finished the season fourth in the league for Net Points (1333.5) and goal assists (244), and shared the fan-voted MVP nod in the Grand Final.
Post-season, she capped off an incredible year by vice-captaining the Silver Ferns to a Commonwealth Games gold medal.
A natural leader, she also captained the Southern Steel in the ANZ Premiership in 2025.
Heffernan burst onto the international stage in 2022, making her debut for the Silver Ferns and maintaining her place in the squad ever since.
She joined an exclusive club in 2023/24 when she was named Silver Ferns International Player of the Year, solidifying her place amongst the best netballers in the world.
