Georgie Horjus continued to rise in 2022, demonstrating her versatility across WA and GA and cementing herself as a key playmaker for the Thunderbirds’ attack line.
The Kangaroo Island talent was a fan favourite yet again, taking out the fan-voted MVP Award in the opening match in Round 1.
She also picked up the Player of the Match recognition after recording 26 feeds, 16 goal assists and 10 goals playing across WA and GA.
Across the season, she topped her side for goal assists with 180, centre pass receives with 219, and feeds with attempts at 211.
The club’s 2021 Subway Club Champion capped off another stellar season with her first selection in an Australian side for the Fast5 Netball World Series.
Horjus started her netball journey with Parndana Netball Club before joining Contax Netball Club in the Premier League.
She came through the Netball SA pathway, representing the Southern Netball Academy at the Academy Games and Kangaroo Island at the Country Championships, as well as representing SA at the National Netball Championships.
Off court, Horjus studies Human Movement and a Master of Secondary Teaching.
