This English international is set to make her Suncorp Super Netball debut in 2023 after making the move to Australia to join the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
A dynamic GA/GS with the accuracy to match, Cardwell has proven her ability as the playmaker in GA and a formidable target in GS.
With four premierships under her belt with Manchester Thunder in the Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL), she decided to take the leap to SSN in 2023.
The 28-year-old will add experience, versatility and a unique game style to the Thunderbirds’ young and talented list.
A former defender, Cardwell swapped ends in 2015 under the guidance of then coach Tracey Neville, who has also signed with the Thunderbirds for 2023 as an assistant coach.
In 2022, Cardwell shot 641 goals from 21 games, ranked fourth in the VNSL despite playing predominantly in goal attack, and notched up 244 feeds.
At the VNSL Awards, she took home the Fans’ Player of the Season and was named Players’ Player of the Season.
In the same year, Cardwell celebrated 50 caps with the England Roses while representing her country in a test against the Australian Diamonds.
