The Adelaide Thunderbirds have their eyes set on a win when the team plays its final game of the 2018 season against the NSW Swifts.
Midcourter Hannah Petty said the team is confident ahead of tomorrow night’s game at Priceline Stadium.
“We played really well against the Swifts last time only going down by two goals, and I think we match up well against them,” she said.
“We had a good hit out last night and are going in confident.
“We’re looking to put on a 60-minute performance and getting that reward at the end.”
Petty, who started in centre last round against the Queensland Firebirds, is likely to come up against fellow South Australian Maddy Proud.
“If I get the opportunity to play against Maddy it will test my skills and I’m looking forward to some friendly fire, which is always the case when you come up against someone you are good mates with.”
After two seasons interrupted with injury, Petty has enjoyed playing a full season.
“I feel I have a good load of fitness to run out the whole 60 minutes and if I get the opportunity to play the whole game I’ll be really excited.”
With the game marking Dan Ryan’s last as Head Coach, and Captain Leana de Bruin announcing this week she would return home to New Zealand, Petty said the group is united and wanting to finish the season on a high.
“Everyone deserves the win. We want to get this win for each other and the Pink Army more than anything else.”
