The excitement around the inaugural season of Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) enticed Carly Wildman to purchase her Adelaide Thunderbirds membership.
“I’ve always been an Adelaide Thunderbirds supporter, but with the start of SSN last year and the hype around the competition, I joined the club as a member,” Carly said.
Carly attended all but one of the Adelaide Thunderbirds home games in 2017, and in 2018 you’ll see her in the Pink Army again.
“When you watch the games on TV you see how athletic and talented the players are, but watching the games live, you truly see how impressive they are.”
The 2017 season ended on a high note for Carly when she presented Renae Ingles with the Members’ Award at the Adelaide Thunderbirds Gala Dinner.
“That was an amazing experience, although it was also quite nerve-racking being up on stage and presenting Renae with the award,” she said.
“It was really special to be able to tell Renae how much I have loved watching her play over the years. She was an amazing wing defence; I’ve not watched a player like her.”
Looking ahead to the 2018 SSN season, Carly said she’s excited to see Jane Woodlands-Thompson back at the club and can’t wait to see what New Zealand recruits, Cat Tuivaiti and Leana de Bruin, bring to the team.
